Birju has over 10 years of experience working in Startups and SMEs. In 2008, Birju joined a pre-revenue startup as a one of just 4 people. Over the following 6 years, Birju used his business and commercial skills to help drive the company to a £22m p/a company before it was then acquired by a blue-chip company. During the final years at this startup, Birju was asked to help develop a sales team for a new business in the UK healthcare space, recognizing the exit potential, Birju managed to negotiate a sweat-equity deal and eventually exited at 350x return within just 7 years.
In 2015, Birju left the corporate world and setup a company assisting Startups in areas such as idea and commercial validation, building a solid business foundation and pitch/investor deck creation. In addition, Birju also works with SMEs (£2-5m p/a) advising senior management on commercial strategy, business development and digital transformation.
In addition to the consultancy, Birju also has two tech-led startups – one in the parenting space and another in the health sector. Both companies are growing steadily and have successfully completed a round of funding respectively.
